- Mr. Atanesian, I would like to draw your attention to the article of Director of the Moscow Institute for Political and Social Research in the Black Sea and Caspian Region Vladimir Zakharov, in which the author expressed concern about the fact that the Armenian party did not work on a proper level with other states to give an impartial assessment of the Khojalu events.

The Karabakh Movement, first of all, identified our friends and confederates,
supporters of the struggle of our people and defenders of its rights. Just at the first stage of the Movement, representatives of the Soviet intelligentsia held out the hand of friendship to the Armenians of Artsakh; they properly understood the essence of the struggle and stood for the defense of the rights and aspirations of the Armenians of Artsakh. Among them was Academician of the USSR Academy of Sciences, one of the founders of the Soviet hydrogen bomb, public activist and great humanist Andrey Sakharov.

As you know, on February 26, a declaration on the establishment of a Group of Friendship of the Republic of Lithuania and the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic was adopted at the Lithuanian Parliament. Frankly speaking, the event is quite significant regarding the foreign policy steps of the NKR on the way to its international recognition. Surely, we don't intend to overestimate the significance of this event and especially to fall into euphoria, anticipating the imminent de jure recognition of the NKR independence. But, we should not either underestimate it. This fact should be considered, first of all, in the context of democratic development of our Republic, which, in its turn, creates safe prerequisites for the further international recognition of the NKR and its full-fledged integration into the community of civilized nations.

 Roundtable dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Karabakh Movement
On February 23, the NKR NA ARFD (Armenian Revolutionary Federation Dashnaktsutyun) faction organized a roundtable dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Artsakh Movement, with the participation of the Party members, the Movement pioneers, representatives of the youth organizations operating in the Republic and the mass media.
