For Azerbaijan, it has become a "good" tradition to initiate each February, on the eve of the anniversary of the tragic events related to the residents of the village of Khojalu, a propaganda campaign aimed at achieving international recognition and condemnation of the so-called "Khojalu genocide". This year wasn’t either an exception, and the actions of Azerbaijan on condemning the Armenian party for the mass massacres of civilians on February 26, 1992 look like a situation of deja vu. Azerbaijan again began to instigate a propaganda myth at different levels about the "military crimes committed by Armenians in Khojalu".

25 years ago, an event took place in Nagorno-Karabakh that had a huge moral and political influence on the fate of not only the people of Artsakh, but, without any exaggeration, of the entire Armenian people, predetermining the further course of its social and political development. On February 20, 1988, a special session of the NKAO Council of People's Deputies of the twentieth convocation adopted a resolution to solicit before the Supreme Soviets of the Azerbaijani SSR and Armenian SSR for transferring the NKAO from the structure of the Azerbaijani SSR to that of the Armenian SSR. This resolution entered firmly into the annals of the modern history of Artsakh, marking a new milestone in the Karabakh Movement.
